FAQ's About Laser Hair Removal

Please reach us at admin@4uskinandlaser.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Laser hair removal is an effective method for achieving long-term hair reduction. While it rarely guarantees the complete removal of every hair, most patients experience a significant decrease in hair density. Any regrowth that does occur is typically finer and lighter in colour. Maintenance sessions, usually every six months, help sustain your results.

Most patients begin to notice improvements within one month after the first session. A typical treatment plan requires 6–12 sessions, scheduled approximately 4–6 weeks apart to align with natural hair growth cycles. Additionally, the treated hairs gradually shed over the weeks following each session.

The duration of each session depends on the size of the area being treated. Smaller areas may be completed in as little as 15 minutes, whereas full-body treatments can take between 90 and 120 minutes. Your technician will provide a more specific estimate during your consultation.

Laser hair removal is most effective for individuals with lighter skin and darker hair, as the laser targets the pigment in the hair follicle. However, with advances in technology and specialised preparation products, many skin types can be safely treated. During your complimentary consultation, we will assess your unique characteristics to determine the best approach. Please note that the treatment is generally not recommended for individuals with blonde, red, grey, or white hair, and it is not advised for pregnant individuals.

Yes. Our services cater to both men and women. Many male clients seek treatment for areas such as the back, chest, and arms, among others.

Unlike traditional hair removal methods that can pull hair from the skin and cause irritation, laser treatment targets the follicle directly. This often results in a reduction in ingrown hairs and associated skin breakouts, contributing to smoother skin over time.

When performed correctly by a trained professional, laser hair removal does not darken the skin. However, if improper settings or unsuitable equipment are used, there is a risk of the skin producing extra pigment as a protective response. We take extensive care to use the appropriate technology and aftercare protocols to ensure safe, effective treatments across all skin types.

Safety is paramount. Both clients and technicians are required to wear protective eyewear to prevent any potential eye injury from stray laser light. Additionally, we take precautions to avoid treating tattooed areas, as the laser can interact with tattoo pigments.

Most clients experience only mild sensations during the procedure—often compared to a gentle snapping or tingling feeling. Some areas of the body may be more sensitive, particularly where the skin is thinner or the hair is denser. If discomfort occurs, you can alert your technician immediately, who can adjust the settings accordingly. Post-treatment cooling measures, such as cold compresses or soothing skincare products, are typically recommended to alleviate any residual discomfort.

Sensitivity can vary by individual and treatment area. Commonly, areas such as the upper lip, underarms, bikini region, or around the ankles may experience a slightly higher level of discomfort. Your technician will discuss these considerations with you during your consultation and tailor the treatment for optimal comfort.

Sun exposure can alter your skin’s natural pigmentation, potentially increasing the risk of adverse reactions such as burns, blisters, or lasting pigment changes. We advise avoiding direct sunlight, tanning beds, and artificial tanning products for at least 2–4 weeks prior to your first treatment. During your treatment course, continue to protect the treated areas with regular use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

There is no evidence to suggest that laser hair removal affects your body’s natural sweating or other skin functions.

Patients with hormonal imbalances—including those with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)—may experience more pronounced hair growth. While laser hair removal can significantly reduce unwanted hair, we recommend that individuals with hormonal conditions consult their healthcare provider for a comprehensive evaluation and potential additional treatment options to achieve optimal results.

FAQ's About Skin Treatment

The number of sessions depends on your individual skincare goals. Typically, clients undergo treatments twice per week, and many notice improvements after just one session. Your technician will develop a tailored plan during your consultation.

Sessions generally last up to 30 minutes, making it a quick and efficient addition to your skincare routine.

When performed as a standalone treatment, LED Light Therapy requires no downtime. However, if it is combined with other procedures, there may be a brief recovery period, which your technician will explain in detail.

Yes, LED Light Therapy was originally developed to aid in wound recovery. It can assist in reducing the appearance of post-surgical scars, as well as help with pain relief and the improvement of superficial skin conditions.

Due to limited clinical data on its use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or while undergoing IVF treatment, we do not offer LED Light Therapy in these circumstances as a precaution.

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that gently exfoliates and removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells. The result is a clearer, brighter, and more rejuvenated complexion.

Unlike a traditional facial, microdermabrasion employs advanced technology—such as diamond-tipped devices combined with suction—to deeply exfoliate the skin and extract impurities from your pores, providing a more intensive treatment.

Treatment durations vary to suit your schedule, ranging from a 20-minute express session to a 50-minute high-performance treatment, allowing for flexibility and convenience.

Microdermabrasion is well tolerated. Most patients describe the sensation as a gentle, sand-like feeling across the skin—unusual for first-timers but not typically painful.

We usually advise a minimum of three sessions to achieve noticeable improvements. For those with acne-prone skin, scheduling treatments every two to four weeks can help maintain long-term skin clarity.

Skin  Needling sessions generally last about 30 minutes, depending on the treatment area. Post-treatment, you may experience slight redness and warmth with minimal downtime. Any dryness typically resolves within a few days.

Yes, laser treatments are effective for targeting spider veins, particularly on areas from the waist upward where the veins lie close to the skin’s surface.

Recovery is usually swift with no required downtime, allowing you to resume normal activities immediately. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for about a week. Some clients may experience minor bruising, tenderness, or slight swelling, which typically subsides within a few days.

FAQ's About Cosmetic Injectables

Please reach us at admin@4uskinandlaser.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Dermal fillers can effectively smooth facial lines and wrinkles, add volume to the lips, and contour areas such as the cheeks and chin. They are commonly used to treat nasolabial folds, enhance lip shape and fullness, and rejuvenate the cheeks.

The duration of dermal fillers varies based on several factors, including your skin type, condition, lifestyle, age, and the specific product used. Generally, follow-up treatments are recommended every 6 to 12 months. For instance, treatments for the lips may last up to six months.

Most patients experience only a slight pinch during the injections, with some feeling a brief stinging or pressure as the product is administered. Depending on the treatment area and your personal comfort level, a topical or local anaesthetic may be applied to minimise any discomfort.

We provide an extensive range of cosmetic injectable treatments designed to refresh and enhance your appearance. All treatments are administered by our highly qualified team of medical professionals, ensuring a safe, tailored approach to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
